The next stage in our One Parish Planning process is to offer several feedback sessions where we come together to understand the challenges and opportunities which exist for our parish family. Our feedback sessions will be held at both campuses. Although registration is helpful it is not required. 

Parishioners may attend sessions at either St. Madeleine Sophie or St. Louise. In preparation for these feedback sessions please review the documents below ("What are our gifts" Summary, Parish Family Demographics, Parish Family Blessings Summary, and CCS Community Report) that will help shape our conversations.

St. Louise & St. Madeleine Sophie Demographics

A total of 911 households completed the joint parish demographics survey, including 624 households (68.5%) from St Louise and 287 households (31.5%) from St Madeleine Sophie. Each row in the dataset represents one responding household, providing a snapshot of families who chose to participate in the survey. (These figures reflect survey respondents only and do not represent a full census of all registered parishioners.)

Q: Remind me: Why are we doing Partners in the Gospel?

 A: Today we face many realities that impact parish life and make it difficult to fully live out our mission. We face an urgent — yet exciting — opportunity to transform parish life through Partners in the Gospel. Over the past few decades, our local Catholic Church has experienced a decrease of engaged parishioners, fewer priests, dwindling finances, deteriorating campus conditions and more. 

 

Let’s look at one of our current realities: fewer priests. Over the past few decades, we have seen a sharp decline in men joining the priesthood, ultimately leading to fewer priests. Sadly, our presbyterate is getting older and we have had 22 priest deaths over the past two years. While it’s excellent that we have seen a slight uptick in our seminarians (currently 17 in the program), we do not have enough to help us pastor all our parishes in the future.

Meet our Parish Family Advisory Council!Role of the Parish Family Advisory Council

This council is the pastoral leaders main advisory body to consult about Partners in the Gospel, including changes that impact the parish family, shared events, collaboration across parishes, and
more. Comprised of parishioners from each parish in the parish family, this council focuses on
the health of the entire parish family, looking beyond the needs of each individual
community. They will be the key consultative body for the creation of the strategic pastoral
plan called the One Parish Plan that will be submitted to the archbishop prior to becoming
one canonical parish. They will also help ensure the necessary discernment processes are in
place for the completion of the strategic pastoral plan.

Mechanics

• Parish Family Advisory Councils may include 9-12 people.
• Minimum PFAC term should be three years, with the ability to renew as needed.
• Council members should represent the age, ethnic, cultural, and economic makeup of
the parish family.
• Councilmembers should have a diversity of skillsets, including ministerial, service,
finance, properties and strategy.
• Schools and other parish ministries should be represented on the Parish Family
Advisory Council.
• Members should represent and work on behalf of the whole parish family — and not
be limited to representing their own current parish, particular interest or specific
ministry.

Parish Family Announcement 

Archbishop Etienne has announced the final parish family configuration to begin July 1, 2024.  You can find the list here in English and here in Spanish as well as his accompanying letter in English and letter in Spanish.

The proposed parish that St. Louise will form a new parish family with is St. Madeleine Sophie located in south Bellevue in Factoria.  We invite all of you to please attend one of the public input sessions that we are hosting the next two weekends.  Please see the dates and times below.  We encourage everyone to get caught up on the most current information about Partners in the Gospel by following these steps:
